This month so far in the Senate (June 1st-June 22nd), the business was mostly of Cloture Motions (procedure to end debate on an issue quickly) on Nominations and Confirmation of those Nominations. There were 17 motions to invoke cloture on a nomination to force the nomination into a vote. There were also 18 Confirmations so far this month and all of them are listed below.

June 3rd– Keith M. Harper, of Maryland, was confirmed for the Rank of Ambassador as U.S. Representative to the U.N. Human Rights Council.

June 3rd– Sharon Y. Bowen, of New York, was confirmed for the Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

June 4th– Mark G. Mastroianni was confirmed for the U.S. District Judge for the District of Massachusetts.

June 4th– Bruce Howe Hendricks was confirmed for the U.S. District Judge for the District of South Carolina.

June 4th– Tanya S Chutkan was confirmed for the U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia.

June 5th– Sylvia Mathews Burwell, of West Virginia, was confirmed to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

June 10th– M. Hannah Lauck, of Virginia, was confirmed to be a U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District.

June 10th– Leo T. Sorokin, of Massachusetts, was confirmed to be a U.S. District Judge for the District of Massachusetts.

June 10th– Richard Franklin Boulware II, of Nevada, was confirmed to be a U.S. District Judge for the District of Nevada.

June 12th– Crystal Nix-Hines, of California, was confirmed to be Ambassador to the U.N. Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.

June 12th– Lael Brainard, of DC, was confirmed to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.

June 12th– Jerome H. Powell, of Maryland, was confirmed to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.

June 12th– Stanley Fischer, of New York, was confirmed to be Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.

June 17th– Salvador Mendoza, Jr., of Washington, was confirmed to be a U.S. District Judge.

June 17th– Staci Michelle Yandle, of Illinois, was confirmed to be a U.S. District Judge.

June 17th– Darrin P. Gayles, of Florida, was confirmed to be a U.S. District Judge.

June 17th– Peter Joseph Kadzik, of New York, was confirmed to be an Assistant Attorney General.

June 19th– Gustavo Velasquez Aguilar, was confirmed to be the Assistant Secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
